SCience Bee

I had never heard silence as loud as in the car ride home. After arriving home, I ran straight to my room, too embarressed to tell the rest of my family what had happened. During the science bee competition, I had placed dead last out of 30 competitors. Knowing the placing last and giving up would be even worse. This time, I devised a plan to study 3 days a week musing study guides, notecards, and Youtube. I my jaw dropped when at the competition, I qualified for internationals and placing 4th regionally.

In any challenging task or when facing dissapointment, you can anaylze what went wrong or why your sad, and devise a plan to succeed. During You be the Chemist, when we were tasked to create an environmental solution, my group came up with a vertical planting system, where each plant is stacked on top of another. Realizing that the little space and cheap lights could harm the plants, I communicated this problem with my group, but nobody considered this issue serious. I understood that my group members did not see the consequences, so in my house, I took a two pea plants and used cheap($0.50/bulb) and expensive lights($2/bulb). My eyes widened when I discovered that the cheap plant had died out after 2 days, and the expensive one was flourishing. After telling the rest of my group, we implemented a brightness setting, watering system, changed the type of light, and gave the plants more space.

The ability to determine whats wrong and how fix it is hard, but with the right plan, you can be motivated to start working.
