4 million deaths from climate change [2], a 7x inflation surge [15], and $18.5B on unauthorized immigrant healthcare [19]—how can we unite to fight and make things right? As a strong candidate running for the 2024 election, I plan to tackle America's issues by halting inflation, stopping the incoming illegal immigrants, and conquering the climate crisis.

My palms profusely sweat as my hands unstably flipped through my Science Bee note cards for the final revision. To qualify for this regional finals competition, I had to score over the 50th percentile in the International Academics Competitions(IAC) science bee qualifier. I took this 50 question multiple choice test with no preparation but luckily passed. While I knew I needed to study hard for regionals, I had not realized the significance of difficulty between the qualifier and competition. 

Although you stumble, rise again don't stop,

Though fears a player it won't override;

Though anger is an impulse you don’t stop,

Although the odds the progress is in strides:

Playing professional ping pong was my dream

I practiced with my vision being priority

My palms sweat as I tried out for the team

My competitors showed much superiority

I gave them a run for their money

But the outcome was always crummy

One exhibited mastery with their smashes

And one’s bicep was their ace

But one’s muscle tear left many mismatches

And much hope on my face
